Description:
Thistle (also known as; kotz, dardar, barkan and hoah) is mentioned several times in the Torah. First mention appears in the beginning of Genesis, after the Adam and Eve eat from the forbidden tree and God curses the land for Adam: "Thorns and thistles will it bring forth for you" (Genesis 3:18).
Israel has many varieties of thistle, mostly in shades of pinks and purples.
